It also hangs when opening a meeting request. Everything
works fine in Outlook Web Access. This is not a time zone
issue and I am only having this problem with one user.
Does anyone have an answer. I have ssen other posts with
the same question and no one knows the answer. Is there
anyone from Microsoft in this newsgroup that help all of
us who are having this problem?

Thanks

Can you open the calendar in outlook or does
this hang too? If so, write back there is another
fix for that...

Try cleaning out the forms cache of the client.

If you close outlook (on the client).
Perform a FIND (click on desktop and press <F3>)
(If you are using XP or W2K operating system be
sure to look in hidden files)
Look for FRMCACHE.DAT file.
Delete it from the find window.
Restart Outlook.

When you restart Outlook it will rebuild a fresh new
FRMCACHE.DAT file.

Outlook uses forms on everything. It could be that
somehow the FORMS CACHE is retaining incorrect
form information.

This only happens with either a meeting request(non-
reoccuring) or on an accepted appointment in the calendar.

What I have been doing is going into outlook web access
(everything works fine there) and have deleted the mail
item causing the problem and it seems to fix the problem.

The only bad thing is how do I prevent it from happening
again. It has happened with multiple users and multiple
times and the only common thing between them is that they
use Blackberry's and it syncronizes with outlook.

I will try deleting the FRMCACHE.DAT and see if that fixes
the problem.

Thanks

I have seen a couple of problems that will cause this behavior that you are seeing.

One problem was caused by CDO on an exchange server. This problem caused some corrupted data to be placed in the First Day of Week field of some
recurring meeting requests. This was addressed by kb281935 for Exchange. Once the Exchange hotfix was applied, it would stop new meetings from being
corrupted but the old meetings will still contain the corrupted data and therefore, Outlook would loop. For Outlook 2000 (q318305) and Outlook 2002
(q318742) the loop was prevented by these hotfixes.

Another problem was that there was a meeting (recurring or not) that occurred on the last weekend of October when we shift for Day light savings time. If the
meeting starts/ends around the DST switch, you might see a loop like this. One way to check to see if this is the same problem, change your time zone by
one zone closer to the middle of the country. For example, if you are in EST change it to CST to see if the problem still occurs. Or if you are in PST then
change your time zone to be MTN time zone and see if the problem recurs. If doing this stops the loop, then search around the end of October to see if there
is an appointment that could be causing it.

If neither one of these works for you, then you can contact the Microsoft support center to open a support ticket. They can work with you to find the exact
problem that is causing the loop.

Based on these details, only on meeting requests and accepted appointments and they are using Blackberry, I would lean toward the Corrupted First Day
of week problem. This problem caused some corrupted data to be placed in the First Day of Week field of some
