I have Outlook 97 and Windows 98, and broadband via
cable / ethernet adapter. When I press F5 for send /
receive, nothing happens, no dialog box, and I can't do
anything else with Outlook.
I have to exit using CTRL-ALT-DEL. Initial "Close
Program" box does not show Outlook as not responding, but
I click on it anyway, then a box comes up to tell me that
ThorConnWndClas is not repsonding. (I have searched for
this, it appears to be listed
within /Windows/System/outlcomm.dll and inetcomm.dll, and
\Windows\Users)
Other related symptoms: 1) if I try to exit Outlook
without causing it to hang as above, the "Outlook is
closing down" box never goes 2) when trying to check
internet settings (they appear to be fine) the Control
Panel takes an age to appear; 3) computer has been very
slow all day (I have loads of disk space left)
