outlook hangs up dial up modem after a send and receive

hi
i'm havin a user who s using a dial up using dax 56000..even if he is
already connected to net, if hegoes for send and receive the
connection hangs up the internet and has to dial again for next send
and receive,,hang up after send and receive is noy enabled, i
checked..wiil be greatfull if u can help me.. frankly i'm not an
expert in outlook issues...can provide me any link to documentations
for outlook

Open your account properties and examine the Connection tab. Make sure
"Connect using my local area network (LAN)" is selected. This tells Outlook
to use whatever state of the network Windows recognizes.
