Outlook Hangs after trying to download messages

Outlook hangs after downloading 4-7 e-mail messages when there are several
image or spam messages in the mailbox. this only happens on 1 computer. Is
there a security setting that may cause this?
 
Outlook XP and Express 6 both set up using POP3 for connection
