Outlook hanging on startup

When I open outlook, I have no problems. However, should
I shut it down and restart it, Outlook will not open. I
deleted the outcmd.dat file, and this has not stopped the
problem. When I enter task manager, it is only listed as
a running process. Upon ending that process, I can
restart Outlook again with no problem. It seems as
though Outlook is not shutting down! Help!!!

Do you have a program running that uses outlook' data? This could be winfax,
activesync, stamps.com or a host of other less common programs.

Knockout, http://sunflowerhead.com/software/knockout/, will sit in your
system tray so you can see if outlook closes properly and if not, close it.
