Outlook Freezing after opening

I can open Outlook but it freezes after I try to click on anything. It will
remain frozen for hours. The only place that I can click to get out of the
program is the red x or close botton in the right hand corner.

After hitting the red close button I'm given the choice to check for a
solution, close the prorgam or wait for the program to respond. I have tried
all three. I have tried to reboot and restart the system. I have tried to
download the latest updates.

Version of Outlook?
Type of mail account?
What did you change since it worked the last time?
Does it work in Outlook Safe Mode?
Start-> Run; outlook.exe /safe
(note the space in the command)
