I changed jobs, b4 leaving I exported outlook files to external flash drive.
When I import the files to a new laptop outlook2003 freezes and sends a error
msg about winfax pro. I also have a microsoft PDAthat was synched to my
former employers computer and when I synch that to my new laptop it freezes
as well. My son has taken my exported files and successfully imported it to
his laptop. He has a G-mail acct, I am an IMAP. I purchased this lap top from
Dell and have spent about 12 hrs with them and they say it is a microsoft
problem. I don't have access to my former employers computer. Anybody have
any suggestions?

Only that niether Import or Export is the recognised route to use on pst
files, as it can lead to data loss/corruption.
That being said there have been a number of posts about a winfaxpro error,
even when that app is not/has not been installed.
An MVP posted the MS was aware of the problem and was looking into it.

This is what drives me mad; b4 I exported the files I went on Google and
found info @ 8help.osu.edu/1509.html which told me to choose Import/Export.
This is where I am now if u can't help me at least offerto help me retype my
900 or so contacts so I can go back to making a living. Just kidding, but
someone must have a fix for me besides you shouldn't have done that. Happy

Thanks very much for your info, but the technician from dell on call did what
you have suggested and it did not work. He also set up a seperate contact
file which did work but did not interact with my email address book. Do you
have any other ideas?

If you are saying you still get the Winfax pro error, there have been a
number of posts on this.
An MVP reported that MS were aware of the problem & looking into it.

I'm not sure what you are saying about the contact File, do you mean a
seperate pst containing contacts or a new folder?
If the later configure it as the OL address book
