Not for certain if you download the demo of Office 2007 that it will allow
you to upgrade to the full version of it then upgrade to a version that
contains Outlook. Have to check with them to find out.
Outlook Express is not available for Vista (thought it wouldn't suprise me
that someone somewhere isn't hacking it out as we speak).
I just bought a new computer with Vista Ultimate but it just came with the
Home & Student edition of Office 2007 (so there is no Outlook – just Windows
Mail). My main issue is that I cannot seem to use Word as my Email Editor,
my primary concern being lack of the AutoCorrect feature. Is there a way to
activate AutoCorrect in Windows Mail or do I need to go out and buy Outlook
2007?
Outlook is the only Microsoft e-mail client that had Word as an e-mail
editor. For those features you will have to get Outlook 2007.
You might check into whether or not that the Office 2007 you have can be
"upgraded". Don't know what the cost would be or if the T&S Edition
applies. They did have a 2003 Trial to full at one time, all it took was
the purchase of the activation.
Here's an older link for the Office 2003 60 Day Trial for the UK version.
Not promising anything on an install but something you might try on the
other computer to be able to get the Outlook .pst file to Outlook Express. http://www.microsoft.com/uk/office/editions/prodinfo/standardtrial.mspx
Yep, Outlook 2007 was extensively beta-tested, and it should be
relatively bug-free. I assume you got the whole Office suite for that
price. Others who only need an alternate email client would do well
to try the free Mozilla Thunderbird.
