Hi, does anyone know how to get Windows XP Explorer to
search the content of Outlook Message Format files
(*.msg). Previous versions of windows allowed this and I
know that you can now use Indexing service/ query
catalogue, although I understand the benefits of using
this method it is not an option for my users at the
moment. If you try searching for text within msg files
explorer does not search the files, it just ignores them.
We have thousands of *.msg files on our servers which
need to be searched using WIndows explorer content search
as previously done. I am currently updating our systems
and would appreciate any help.
Thanks
Bob

Hi Doug,

Thanks for your advice.
I tried it out but unfortunately it didn't work with
*.msg files :o((
My registry already has a Persistenthandler sub-key value
{098f2470-bae0-11cd-b579-08002b30bfeb}
for .msg files, I didn't want to delete it.
I like your website, so I'm sure i'll be back sometime in
the future.

Meanwhile I'll carry on to try and find a solution

Regards
Bob
