D DL Oct 25, 2009 #2 Thats not surprising, it doesnt run under Vista either Niether is Outlook Express anything to do with Outlook, which is the group you posted to, Win7 doesnt come with a mail client, MS reccommends, I believe, that you install Windows Live Mail

W Wotan Oct 25, 2009 #3 I can't get Outlook 2002 to login to my outgoing (SMTP) mail server. Receiving mail via POP3 works fine. Same exact problem using Pegasus Mail as e-mail client. Worked fine on XP. But no SMTP after clean install of Windows 7. This seems to be a common problem in many configurations. What is Windows 7 doing differently in regards to SMTP?

D DL Oct 26, 2009 #4 Well since outlook 2002 is not compatible with Vista its hardly likely to be compatible with win7
