I've configured outlook express as noted on the Outlook
Express's "how to configure", but this continues to
happen. Any additional info would be greatly appreciated.

are your email addresses "really" different, or are they aliases of the
one user account?

|They are aliases of the main identity.

then in that case you need to do the following:
assume two email addresses of (e-mail address removed) and
(e-mail address removed)

set up two identities in OE (or users in Windows XP) called Jim and Fred
and in the mail account settings do the following:
In jim's Identity (or user) set the mail server username to
"jim+username.isp.com" and in Fred's identity (or user) set his mail
sever username to "fred+username.isp.com" (Both WITHOUT the quote
marks). This will ensure that fred only gets mail addressed to
(e-mail address removed) and likewise Jim will only get mail addressed to
jim,@username.isp.com. the only downside is that mail addressed to
"anything but fred or jim"@username.isp.com will not be downloaded. as
most of this will be spam, that's not a problem - just use Mailwasher or
something similar once a month or so to clear it out.
I have used this method for some years (until I got my own domain name)
and I can assure you it works extremely well!
