I have IE installed.
I'd like to try Outlook Express.
I can't download OE because it says I have a
later version of IE installed.
I repeat...I'd like to try Outlook Express.
I can load IE. Then what?
Thank you.

In IE go to Tools>Mail and New>read news it should
open OE.

If not look for the file msimn.exe.

Mine is here "C:\Program Files\Outlook Express\msimn.exe"

OE is part of IE. You should find it in Start>All Programs. To create
a shortcut:

Right click on the Desktop>New>Shortcut. Browse to *C:\Program
Files\Outlook Express\MSIMN.EXE* Click Next>Click Finish. A new
shortcut will be on the desktop.

Don't quite understand your problem since IE and OE come with Windows XP.
Problem was that I prefer not to use either one, but
wanted to check OE's capabilities for a friend.
I found it, tried it, subject closed, thank you.

I don't want the shortcut.

Don..

People like that deserve to have those that help set up a message rule that
deletes anything that they may post in the future.. I am not a spiteful
person, but don't feel that common decency or a pleasant attitude is a bad
thing in these newsgroups
