Downloaded an upgrade for McAfee SpamKiller. The next day
when I started my P.C. went to O.E. and everything had
been deleted including my WAB. I know I can restore but
how can I put my new emails in my inbox after a restore?
I don't think System Restore is going to be able to recapture your old
message store. It concentrates on the operating system state, not
applications.
When you installed the McAfee upgrade did it offer to create a backup of
your personal data? Did you accept that offer? If yes, that's where the old
messages will be. Check McAfee for directions on recovering data from that
backup. If the upgrade did not offer to do this, do you have a recent OE
backup somewhere?
If you decide to try System Restore anyhow: Create a folder in My
Documents, drag and drop your new emails into that folder. You will now
have 2 copies of each message: one in OE and one in the folder you dragged
to. Run System Restore. Check OE. I think you'll find things exactly as you
left them but if necessary, drag and drop the copied messages back into the
inbox folder.
