I recently bought a new computer. It's about a week old.
Up until yesterday it had worked pretty well. I'm now
having problems connecting to outlook express. The page
comes up but it won't connect. In the control panel
under network connections it shows my internet provider
as disconnected. In the task bar it also shows local
area a network cable is unplugged. Any info would be
appreciated.

Wild stab: Open Outlook Express. Click Tools> Options. Check the connection
method being used by the program. In most cases, you want OE to use the
existing connection.

There is an Outlook Express group on the MS servers if you need more
assistance: http://support.microsoft.com/newsgroups/default.aspx
(OE group is listed in the Internet Technology section under IE6)
