Hi there, Im trying to work out how to put on the spell
checker on my outlook express.
I use windows Xp and am using outlook express version 6.0

so can anyone help me

You need to have MS WORD, perhaps MS WORKS will also provide
the spellcheck engine.

A Google search will probably report some third party
dictionary/spellchecker programs that will work.

There is no spell checker in Outlook Express. Neither Windows XP,
nor any other version of Windows, has ever come with a Spell
Checking facility. Outlook Express uses the spell checker that
comes with Microsoft Word, (or another Microsoft Office program)
if you have it installed.

If you don't have Word or Office installed, you probably don't
have a spell checker. However there are several downloadable
freeware/shareware alternative spell checkers that work with
Outlook Express and Outlook. Since I have no personal experience
with any of these, I'll let someone else recommend one.

Greetings --

Outlook Express, as you've discovered, has no spell-checking
capabilities of its own. Instead, it relies upon the presence of
other Microsoft applications, such as the Office Suite, Word, or the
Works _Suite_ (which includes Word, not the regular Works). There are
also some 3rd-party shareware/freeware solutions available at any of
the many shareware sites on the Internet

Spell Magic seems well thought-of, though I haven't tried it myself:
