when I try to send an email, the following message appears...."your SMTP
server has not responded in 60 seconds. Would you like to wait another 60
seconds for the server to respond?" My server is comcast.net, and I have
contacted them, they have checked their program, and it is no their problem,
but Microsoft.
Anybody have any ideas on what I can do to send emails via Outllook Express.

Thanks....Howard

You need to get on Comcast's case. The SMTP server is supplied by Comcast to
send mail. If the SMTP server is not responding, then your configuration is
incorrect or Comcast is having issues. In either case, it's a problem
Comcast needs to help you resolve. You are paying Comcast for service, get
some. Call them again. In the mean time....

1 Double check the mail server information in Outlook Express. See below.
2 Disable email scanning on your antivirus program. You are protected
anyway without this.
3 Check your firewall settings.
4 Reboot your PC and try checking your mail once again.

See this for Comcast's settings...
