Can anyone tell me where can I find my e-mail folders for outlook express in Windows 2000 Prof?
In Windows 98 they were under DBX format but cannot find the same format in windows 2000 Pro.
Thanks

Do a search on your computer for "dbx" without the quotes. I have Win 2K Pro
and the email folders are in .dbx format.

Hi lahcen,

Assuming you are using the default Store Folder location folder, found under the
Local Settings folder, it has the Hidden attribute so you will need to configure
Windows Explorer to show it before you search for your *.dbx files. To do that use
Control Panel | Folder Options | View [tab]: Click to select: "Show hidden files and
folders".

For more information on OLEXP topics such as the Store Folder location and Backup &
Restore see the following Web Site. It is authored by Tom Koch Microsoft MVP for

Also, if you have any more Outlook Express questions I suggest that you post in the
appropriate group. Your message header seems to indicate that you are posting from
the Microsoft Communities Web Page. I am not certain what version of Outlook Express
you are running, though, so I can't provide a direct link.

Below you will find a link to the main Microsoft Communities Internet
Explorer/Outlook Express Newsgroups Web Page. Start there, then in left-side pane
click on the link for your version of Internet Explorer, then click on the Outlook
Express link.
