You probably already tried this, but just in case, some "housecleaning" of
OE folders might be in order. Deleted items especially is prone to a big
build-up of stuff; look at others also. All of that has to be loaded every
time Outlook Express is opened.

I rechecked and the OE foulders are empty. I install a program and
cann't remember which one. and two things changed. 1) when I boot up
windows XP PRO would go stright to the desktop now I get a screen
where I have to select the log in account and there's one. 2) outlook
express 6.0 takes for ever to load. on the microsoft site in there KB
area. there was a Q235300 to fix this problem for win 98 and ME there
was another one for XP but I cann't find it

But thanks for responding

This fix worked for me. Save the following to OEfix.reg (use Notepad to
create the file) and then double click the file to execute the registry
update:

Windows Registry Editor Version 5.00

[HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\CLSID\{FB7199AB-79BF-11d2-8D94-0000F875C541}\InProcServer32]

"ThreadingModel"="Apartment"
