I've just gotten my new computer with the latest Outlook Express and am
receiving e-mails with a great deal of the attachments removed by "OE" -
attachments which I've never previously had automatically removed by my
Windows 98 Outlook Express version. I am assuming that this is some kind of
fancy safety devise for my protection but it is making a mess of my
receiving attachments. How do I turn this off?

This newsgroup is devoted to Microsoft Access, the database program, but
we can still answer your question.

Click Tools -> Options -> Security, and uncheck the box labeled "Do not
allow attachments to be saved or opened that could potentially be a
virus". Once you've done that, the safety of your e-mail is your own
lookout.
