outlook express 'the operation failed. an object could not be found

Try posting this in an Outlook Express news group - this is not one of them.
Outlook is a part of Microsoft Office and is what this group supports.
Outlook Express is a part of Internet Explorer and has its own news groups.

After furious head scratching, (e-mail address removed) asked:

When using IMAP with outlook we found that on some PC's they hang
when they send receive. Set the default inbox to be the one on the
server and not the local pst. 1 open outlook, but do not login or it
will hang (click cancel to any login dialogue boxes) 2 Tools,
options, Other Tab, Advanced options 3 Start up in this folder, set
to your inbox on your imap server, has fixed it every time for us.

Just to pick a nit, changing the "Start up in this folder" value does NOT in
any way change the default Inbox.
