I am running win2000, have done all my updates, hotfix,
have McAfee firewall/virus updated but am receiving mail
returned to my Outlook express that I NEVER SENT and I do
not have these addresses in my address book.

One other person told me she thinks my computer is mailing
out on its own as she received bogus email from people in
my address book (BUT they are in hers also).

I did install a numbered item with no email address at the
beginning of the address list to maybe catch something
happening. My "sent box" shows nothing unauthorized was
mailed. Ideas? Help?

that on of the symptom of a virus
someone else have the virus and you get a msg from postmaster
Do not open it up !
if has attachment trash it
if you mail client has auto preview on turn it off in both in box and
deleted files

With all the worms and viruses out there this is not surprising. My
guess is that somewhere along the line someone with an infected computer
that had you in their address book caused this to happen. You might want to
look at the file/properties of the returned mail for more clues. Make sure
that in Outlook Express tools/options/security you have selected the "warn
me when another application tries to send mail as me". --- Steve
