Outlook Express Profile is Corrupted

My outlook express was working fine until last week. Now it receives
messages, but will not send anything. There are 6 messages in my outbox, and
when I click on outbox, the computer freezes. I am told I by Embarq help
desk that my outlook express profile is corrupted.

How do I fix this? How do I delete messages in my outbox? I suspect one is
corrupted and that is why my messages won't send.

All pop and smtp info is corrrect.
