Cannot receive mail , had Norton anti virus on system but they want me to
renew , but instead I installed AVG, but I cannot uninstall Norton and AVG
is working perfectly. Could the trouble with OE be with Norton now?

Norton uninstall
Norton NIS or Firewall Uninstall - do everything but the reinstall stuff.

Take a look here for the AV removal tool:
http://service1.symantec.com/SUPPORT/nav.nsf/docid/2001092114452606
(Click on the little + signs to read the detailed instructions) For manual
removal, it may also depend on your OS. See at the end of this document for
appropriate links.
You may want to try their removal tool in compatibilty mode before trying
the manual uninstall, above. See here:

If you run the Norton Firewall [plus many other Firewalls], enter your ISP plus your ISP mail servers as trusted sources. I have always been able to uninstall Norton's Anti-virus by removing it from the Control Panel/Add or Remove Programs. The newer versions remove readily; however, they leave behind files and registry entries which you have to find and remove manually. DO NOT allow two anti-virus programs to be active at the same time. I would suggest you uninstall AVG and when and if you choose to reinstall it, choose the custom method of installation and elect not to install the E-Mail Scanning portion of that software because it is a slow and tedious process which slows down receipt of E-Mail.

My experience is different.

Hope this helps.

to uninstall Norton Anti-Virus,click on start then
click on the control panel then click add/remove programs
then scroll down the Norton Anti-Virus & try to remove the program. this
will work as long as you don't recover the
system or do a ststem restore because basically your
computer came with the Norton Anti-virus & will still be a part of the NTFS
files within the original factory
settings from when you purchased the computer.
