My friend has tried to email about 400Mb of photos through OE in one go!
Consequently OE has gone pear shaped and will not respond and hangs up
permanently. He has tried deleting the photos from My Pictures and from the
Outbox where they are stuck, but no result. Any suggestions welcome.

If there was nothing else of importance being sent at the time, navigate to
the OE mailstore in Exporer, and delete Outbox.dbx. It will be re-created
next time you send.

You might also want to check the size of 'Sent Items' if it's over 4-500MB
then OE will give trouble.

The mailstore is normally under "Documents and Settings\{user}\Local
Settings\Application Data\ Identities\{number}\Microsoft\Outlook Express -
and you may need to turn of 'Hide system files' in Explorer's options to be
able to access it.

Such an easy to find place to put the files.

Never trust anybody who is too sophisticated to own a rubber chicken.

Vista is much easier.

In Vista Explorer it _looks_ like it's under 'Documents and
Settings\{user}\Local Settings\Application Data\' but it's actually someplace
else altogether. :-/

I just know I'm gonna luurve supporting Vista.

OE does give you the option of naming your own folder for mail. I have mine
named "Mail" and it is at the first level in the C: directory.
