I'm using XP SP3 (hope so...), but when sending out messages with an
aatachment (eg MP3s), it takes a véééry long time. The sending ends usually
with the message :

Your server has unexpectedly terminated the connection. Possible causes for
this include server problems, network problems, or a long period of
inactivity. Subject 'Test (nr 74)', Account: 'pop.skynet.be (1)', Server:
'relay.skynet.be', Protocol: SMTP, Server Response: '421 Exceeded allowable
connection time, disconnecting.', Port: 25, Secure(SSL): No, Server Error:
421, Error Number: 0x800CCC0F

and the message isn't sent, but next time OE retries to do so (with the same
result).
What is wrong and how to solve this problem?

Hello,

You don't say if you are on dial-up internet service but it sounds like
it and it sounds like you are being disconnected in the middle of the
download. There isn't much you can do about that, you might try
downloading at night to get faster rates.

If you're on DSL or cable internet then there is a problem with
something and I'm not sure what.

Hope this helps, Ray Parrish

You might try learning how to use winrar or some such utility. WinRar
will take a file (mp3 if you wish) and break it into smaller parts. It
will try to compress it but MP3's are already compressed so you won't
get much compression, but you can break it into parts.
Song.mp3 becomes
song.rar
song.r01
song.r02
song.r..
song.rxx (however many it takes based on your size setting).
It was a design back in the 1.4meg floppy days that allowed you to span
floppies. Then it became useful for putting on binary newsgroups.

Still you can use the feature to break the file then send each piece in
a different email one at a time. The receiver just uses the program to
rejoin them back. No data lost.

http://www.snapfiles.com/get/izarc.html is another such 'zip' program
that I hear talked about on the NG's. WinRar is a pay program but you
might get a demo for a test drive.
