You might want to try Windows Live Mail beta. It is the the Vista OE.
The download is free.

No. Windows Live Mail is not MSN.
It is a standard email client program like Windows Mail, with the
added capability of also handling Hotmail/MSN accounts.

I am completely devastated over the fact that my new computer does not have
OE on it. None of my old mail which was valuable and obviously did not get
saved when my power source on my Dell failed is to be found. Supposedly the
Geek Squad transferred all my old files but I have no Outlook Express and
cannot figure out any method of downloading it just so I can get my old
email. I don't even care if I don't get to keep on using it. I simply want to
get my old mail. Does ANYONE have any idea what to do? I'm stuck with this
new Vista program and Vista mail, but it did not import my old mail from OE.
HELP. I'm desperate.

Windows Live Mail is the newer version of Outlook Express. I don't know
if you will like it but it is free to download. I don't think it is
perfect, but I am satisfied with it now that I have figured out most of the
quirks that were bothering me.

Marsha,
it's a little complicated, however summarily you will need to track down the
message store folders, copy ALL files into a single folder, change
attributes on all files to normal, and then import into Vista.

Hi thanks everybody I am now using windows live and now that I have got used
to it I find it nearly as good but not quite as good as o/e no doubt it will
improve with time also since downloading w/l I have found that the spam
filter is now working properly
