outlook express mailbox store

I thought I would like to store my Outlook Express email
message store in My documents, so that I could access old
emails if I needed to, but once I had moved them they
dont seem to be readable, neither does my Outlook express
have all the folders in the inbox which it used to.
I have tried to reverse the action with system restore,
but to no avail.
Any ideas??? Should I just put all the files back where
they originally came from?? If so what is the default
where they normally reside?
I would prefer to have all the messages back on My
Outlook Express as it originally was rather than the way
it is now.
Can anyone help me please?

Thanks Wes, ended up so frustrated that I bought software
online called R-Mail which turns dbx files into eml files
so they can be dragged and dropped back into OE, so
problem fixed. Cheers
