Outlook Express is SLOOOOOW!

On my new computer - a Pentium 4,2.8Gh, 512Mb RAM,
Windows XP - it takes forever to open or compose a
message in Outlook Express. One I get the first message
opened (about 60 seconds) then the rest of them will open
okay. It happens every time I start OE. Same with
composing a message. It takes about 60 seconds to open
the form to start typing! Again, after the first one it's
quicker. I have a broadband connex to the 'net and have
no other problems accessing my ISP.

I never had a problem with this on my old computer
running ME which didn't have near the speed or capacity
of this one.

Anyone else had this problem? Any idea what I can do to
correct this?

This newsgroup is for support of Outlook 97, 98, 2000, 2002 & 2003 from the
Office family for Windows PCs. For Outlook Express (OE) support try posting
in one of these newsgroups:
microsoft.public.inetexplorer.ie4.outlookexpress for OE 4.x
microsoft.public.windows.inetexplorer.ie5.outlookexpress for OE 5.x
microsoft.public.windows.inetexplorer.ie55.outlookexpress for OE 5.5x
microsoft.public.windows.inetexplorer.ie6_outlookexpress for OE 6.x
microsoft.public.internet.mail.mac for the Macintosh version of OE

If those groups aren't carried on the news server that's carrying this group
try using msnews.microsoft.com (MS's public news server that's the source
for all the microsoft.public newsgroups).

Also a good source of Outlook Express info can be found here:

Thank you... but Microsoft identifies this newsgroup as
Outlook/Outlook Express on the main newsgroup page.
