On my domain I have a mandatory profile called
standard.prf.

Each time I log on the profile creates a shortcut for
Outlook Express, I remove the icon and each time I log on
it reappears.

After an exhaustive testing procedure this is definately
somewhere in the registry settings of the Profile.
It is not in the All Users, the Defaults Users or the User
I'm using to log on to.

Its not located in the area on the Domain where the
profile is located with all the other shortcuts I want
pulled down to the client.

So somewhere in HKEY_USERS\Development
is something telling it to replace the icon there.
We know this already because before it was adding three
icons to the start menu :
Internet Explorer,
Media Player,
Outlook Express.

Everything is fully patched with SP4.

Any suggestions?

I stole this quote from google. I did not test it. <USE AT YOUR OWN RISK>
Remove "HKLM\Software\Microsoft\Active Setup\Installed
Components\{44BBA840-CC51-11CF-AAFA-
00AA00B6015C\Stubpath" to stop Outlook Express from
appearing on the Start/AllPrograms menu and desktop and
quick launch bar with every new profile.

Well at first it didn't work as I wanted it to, curses.
But combined with removing the from the new applet
(Default Program Access or something) for SP3/4 in the
Add/Remove Programs it did work a treat.

Thanks for that.
