I've just recently run into a small problem with Outlook Express that I've never experienced before. When I open the application, it takes approximately 30-60 seconds to open. Also, I noticed now that I get the same problem when right click a contact name in the lower left corner and pick "properties". The proggy has never crashed on me, but it hangs badly under these (and maybe other unknown) circumstances. Why would it start doing this out of the blue? I originally dismissed the problem about a month ago, thinking it may just be an issue with my smtp., but the problem has proven to be something residing within my computer software. It's not a problem that in my mind constitutes reformatting the hard drive, so we can just rule that option out... I'll deal with the problem if that's the case. Because once the application does open, everything runs smoothly, and quickly (unless I click on the properties, like I mentioned above)
Can anyone make any suggestions or recommendations? I don't have and abundance of unread emails, or a large amount of read ones either. If there's an option to archive mail, I haven't ever used that, and I'm running 512 k/2700/333 ram. So hopefully any of those possibilities can be ruled out. Like I've mentioned before... this never use to happen. HELP!
