When composing a message in Rich Text (HTML) why does my chosen font
(Verdana/Regular/14) as shown correctly in the formatting toolbar, change to
size 12 immediately I type the first letter into the message body? The size
defaults to 12 whatever font type is chosen. Creating a personal stationery
type with the Wizard produces exactly the same result. I can understand this
default size 12 if Plain Text is being used but not in Rich Text. The font
sizes behave perfectly well in Ms Word.

Open: >Outlook Express and go to: >Tools >Options >Compose >Fonts >Mail (at
the top it is the first heading and press >Settings.... that will change
your font default.
good luck,
Shelagh

Try the following:

Close Outlook Express > open Internet Explorer > click on Tools >
Internet Options > on the General Tab at lower right, click on
Accessibility > if the item (ignore font sizes specified onweb pages)
is checked, uncheck it > OK > OK > now close IE and openOE.
This should let you choose font sizes in OE again, but it will
prevent changing the font size when looking at "some" Web Pages.
Hope that helps, the Best, Helmut.
