The folders and files listed in Favorites are listed in
chronological order, I want them to list in alphabetical
order. How can I change this? the Organize option lets
you organize manually but I see no setting for
automatically alphabetizing

Thanks

Try this: Open Internet Explorer/open Favorites/right click anywhere on the
Favorites listing/click: Sort By Name (it is second from the bottom).

Thank you for your suggestion. Unfortunately when I right
click, Sort By Name (or any other Sort Option) is NOT a
choice anywhere on the list (Rename is 2nd from bottom for
me). I just have the typical Open, Cut, Copy, Delete,
Send To, Properties, etc.

Any other suggestions?

Thx

You need to use the dropdown list, not the side panel. One mode of
access is alt-a.

Maureen;
I use a few keyboard shortcuts. Though this is difficult, coffee cup in one hand,
cigarette in one and mouse in the other. Wait. I don't know how I even use my mouse.

Susan;
If you haven't read Maureen's post already. Click the Favorites button (between View
and Tools) on the top Toolbar. Then right click the drop-down list and click Sort by Name
There is no need that I can see to keep Favorites open on the left side of your screen.
It just hampers your view of whatever web page. And Favorites is just a click away. Or
you can put a Favorites button (looks like a star) on your Toolbar.
Try this: Right click the Toolbar, just above the Address Bar/click Customize/find
the Favorites star in the left-hand pane and highlight it/click the Add button/this moves
it to the right-hand pane/click the Close button when done. Or you can remove items from
the Toolbar/find them in the right-hand pane/highlight/click the Remove button/this moves
the icon to the left-hand pane. You can further customize your Toolbar by dragging and
dropping the icons in the right-hand pane into whatever order you want.

Thank you both! This worked.

To alphabetize the Favorites list - In IE - do Alt-A to
display the Favorites in DropDown List format - then right
click that list - the menu that comes up includes Sort
Name (it is the same list that you get when you right
click the left hand sidebar favorites list WITH THE
ADDITION OF Sort Name - curious that both formats of the
list don't include the same command!

Thanks again for the solution. No my folders are
alphabetized and easier to find!
