Outlook Express disconnects if idle

If I leave Outlook Express active and open on my computer when I walk away,
when I return there is an Error message in the lower right hand corner and I
am no longer connected. I have to close Outlook and reopen it, occasionally
several times before it reconnects. Adelphia, my broadband isp, indicated
that this is an Outlook problem, not their problem. Is there a setting
somewhere that I'm missing that won't allow Outlook Express to continue
running if it's idle?

Outlook Express is family of Internet Explorer and Outlook of the Office
family.
