Outlook Express Died

I have Outlook Express 6, running XP, PC about 5 yrs old. Outlook died,
inbox and outbook are still there and I can access, but can't connect to
internet to send or rec new messages. Thought it was an ISP problem, but
contacted ISP and they checked all settings, everything was normal. Also,
can still connect to internet, only cannot connect for outlook. Would
appreciate any help, since I've been using ISP webmail which is very slow,
and cumbersome, and I have numerous files set up in outlook. Any ideas?
Thanks.

Wrong newsgroup. microsoft.public.outlookexpress.general is the group for
Outlook Express questions.

Thanks, I checked in outlook express newsgroup and my question does appear
there as well. Did ck settings, and they are all correct. Curious that I
can link to internet but not make connection when using Outlook. Could this
have been caused by virus?
