i blocked 2 friends in error (slipped mouse action). i unblocked them, but
they end up back on the blocked senders list, and all the mail they send goes
into my deleted folder. does anyone out there have any advice so i dont hae
to keep looking at my deleted folder, and i can treat my friends with the
respect that they deserve?

Apparently, you didn't "unblock" them very well. Perhaps they are in Blocked
Senders more than once?

Find and remove a Blocked Sender address:

OE | Tools | Message Rules | Blocked Senders List | Highlight the first
address on the list | Click: Modify | Type in address you want to remove.
Prompt: "This address already exists, are you sure you want to replace it?"
Click Yes. The address will now be at the top of the list. Remove it.

Note that the address that was at the top of the Blocked Senders list may
also be removed. You might want to copy it down in case you need to re-enter
it.

"You might want to copy it down in case you need to re-enter it."

Given they are friends won't it be in the OP's Address Book?

You missed the first part.

This is an address in Blocked Senders that will /also/ be removed along with
the intended one. Not a friends address.

I will own up to not reading that paragraph. I would simply said "Place
the cursor on the address you wish to remove and click on Remove."

You're missing the drift, Gerry. Yes, you can do what you say, but my reply
covers those that have a huge BS list and **can't** find the address they
want to remove.

You highlight the first address, (not the one you want to remove), and click
Modify. Type in the address you want to remove and you will get the prompt
that the address already exists. When you click Yes to the prompt, the
address is now at the top, and can be removed now that it has been found.
But, the address you highlighted first is /also/ removed, hence the caveat
to copy it.

I did appreciate you might be looking at a long list. The point then
arises as to whether a long list is a good idea.. My feeling is No. Do
you have a thought as to when a long list becomes counter productive. I
would start to think of other measures if the list starts to get long.
If you are getting hate mail you need to change your email address just
as you would change your telephone number if you were to receive over
many nuisance calls. Perhaps shmums should start thing along these
lines.

I don't know about being counter productive, but more of a waste of time for
blocking spam. I'll go one step further. I don't even use BS and I never
have. I don't get any spam on my primary account and the only rules I have
are for sorting and such.

I do have a Delete It rule in news for plonking but do not use BS there
either.
