I have Office Professional XP. Suddenly, I cannot send
any attachments on E-mail. The outbox never empties and a
message appears that the server is not running and that
do I want to wait 60 seconds etc.

I receive attachments OK and all E-mail without adding
attachments is sent properly.

I have used this software since last May at have no
problem until now.

I have McAfee Privacy, Virus Scan and I also have PoP-Up
Stopper.

Thanks for your help

Hi Lowell,

Have you checked with your service provider to see if there are any problems
with the mail server? It may be on their end.

The part of the message about "server not running" makes me think this is
coming from some of the protection software you are using. Many of the
antivirus programs, for example, create a go-between "virtual email server"
to check outgoing and incoming mails.

These "virtual servers" are often the cause for mail problems such as you
describe. May want to try running with the email layer of protection turned
off. Your "autoprotect" layer of protection will still guard against
viruses however be very cautious with email downloads and scan them
directly before using them.
