I am not a tech person, so please excuse this simple
question.

I have a new Dell 2400 with Windows XP and Outlook
Express. I set up 3 accounts in Windows XP. I then had
support from rr to set up email. Three Outlook accounts
for my family were set up in a single XP account. We are
unable to access email from the various XP accounts and
always must enter my XP account for everyone to get email.

Certainly we should be able to access Outlook Express
email from our individual XP accounts.

I will assume the initial set up was wrong.

How do I set up Outlook Express in XP to access email
from each XP account??

Thanks in advance for you assistance.

If I am reading this correctly, then you setup the 3 email accounts while
logged into 1 XP account?
If this is correct, then that is your problem.
You must login to each XP account and setup the email account for that
person there.

We are

It sounds like he set it up so that you could check all three email accounts
from your account rather than each person accessing their own.

Log in as you and start OE then have a look at:

Tools -> Accounts -> Mail Tab.

If there are three+ mail accounts set up there then I'm probably right. One
will be yours and the others will connect to accounts for other family
members. With luck he may even have given them suitable names. You need to
copy the right email account to the right winXP user account.

Highlight one of the email acounts mentioned above (not yours) and click
Properties. Then then write down the settings on each tab (eg General,
Server, Connection etc). Then log in as another user and repeat Tools ->
Accounts -> Mail Tab. Then click Add -> mail to create a new account and
re-enter the data you wrote down when it asks for it.

Once you have accounts working for each user you can go back and remove them
from your set up (but not before incase you ned to go back and double check
what you wrote down was correct).

The OE help system has info under "add new mail or news account".
