Outlook Express and Windows Mail

In the past I have used Outlook Express on two computers by setting the store
location to a mounted drive from the main computer and it worked fine. I
could access email from either computer. Now with Vista and Windows Mail
there seems to be enough difference in the file setup that I cannot do that
(one on XP and one on Vista). Does anyone know how to accomplish what I had
before? Read in a previous post that Windows Mail is really Outlook Express
V.7. So I downloaded IE 7 and it still comes up as OE v.6.

Windows Mail and OE use completely different message store
schemes. There is no way to share a single message store between
the two programs.
