Just installed IE 6 on my new computer using Win XP. I
use Office 97 and the Outlook Express spell checker won't
function. It's my understanding that it uses the office
spelling database.

It functioned on my old computer using Win 98Se, IE 6 and
Office 97.

Does anyone have a answer to the problem??

Joe

When you download IE6 and OE6, you have re-enable Spell checker again. With
OE open, go to Tools > Options > Spelling and check "Always check spelling
before sending". Click OK.

Joe, I am having the same problem. Hopefully someone can answer. After all, what good is email without spell check??

You are probably missing CSAPI3T1.DLL in
C:\Program Files\Common Files\Microsoft Shared\PROOF

You can expand it from CSAPI3T1.DL_ in the \i386 directory on your WinXP CD.
Go to Start | Run and type this command:

expand x:\i386\CSAPI3T1.DL_ C:\CSAPI3T1.DLL

Where X: is your CD drive. Then move it from the root directory of C: to
the PROOF folder. Some people also have to put it in the Outlook Express
program folder.
