Outlook.exe keeps running

I have the same problem with outlook 2003. The
application window closes, but the process keeps running.
I can only restart outlook after manually ending the
first process.
 
Do you have a PDA? If so, undock the PDA before exiting Outlook.

If you start Outlook in safe mode (use teh command line and type outlook.exe
/safe ) does it still fail to exit?

After I end process with Task Manager and try to reopen
It automaticaly ask me if I want to start in safe mode.

Just a shot in the dark, here, but I'd try killing the Outlook process and
see if it takes any other processes with it.
 
Is Word still open when you close Outlook? (not in the task manager, but
actually open with a visual window)
