Hello,

How do you recover the data from an Outlook/Exchange cache .ost file
without buying a third party tool?

If you can answer this one you Are an Oulook GURU!

If you can recover it depends on if you still have access to the Exchange
account and/or if you still have the mail profile or only the ost-file.

your Outlook Version is?

Do you only have the "OST" file without the Exchange server?

Did you check this site of Microsoft?

You could try to change an .OST file into a PST file with this freeware
tool: "ost2pst"http://www.xcopy32.com/details.php?file=24

Another freeware PST "repair" tool is pst19upg:http://www.computerhope.com/download/updates.htm

Hi all,

Thanks for the replies!

I am using Outlook 2007 with Exchange 2007.

I only have the .ost file.

The Exchange account/profile associated with this file is no longer
available.

I check out your links for useful directions.

Any more ideas will be appreciated.
