Outlook does not work on my new Vista laptop. I installed Office 2003 which
includes Outlook 2003. When I try to start it a message pops up "Configuring
Outlook Accounts, Creating Welcome message" then another message window "
connecting to Microsoft Exchange Server, your exchange server is unavailable.
Retry, Work offline, cancel."
I called my ISP & they were no help.
My mail server is POP3
In mail properties, servers, Incoming is set to POP3 Incoming.verozon.com,
Outgoing mail (SMTP) is set to Outgoing.verizon.com.

I appreciate any suggestions on getting Outlook to work.
Thanks
Harvey

Hi, did you find a solution to this problem? I am sadly experiencing it and I
am unable to find a solution. Thank you for your help, ciao, Massimo

This newsgroup deals with Windows Mail rather than Outlook.
I am cross-posting this to the Outlook newsgroup.

Go to 'Control Panel|Mail|Show Profiles', create a new Outlook profile and
DO NOT add the Exchange Server service to it. Configure this profile with
your POP account settings and all should be well. After the new profile is
working correctly, you can delete the old profile containing the Exchange
Server service.
