I am running Outlook 2000 , on win 2k pro workstation, hooked to exchange 2k
sp4 server.
When one of my clients goes to his inbox to send a new email.. and selects
the "TO" button .. and trys to select outlook contacts... an error comes
up and outlook closes immediately.
It says an error log is being created and the application must close.

He can go to contacts and all his contacts are in there. And he can click
and drag a contact to the inbox and a new email pops up for him to send to
that particular contact ... but he can't get to the contacts from a new
blank email message.....

Any help would be appreciated.

Thank you.

In Control Panel>Mail>Show Profiles, select the mail profile and click
Properties. on the Services tab, select the Outlook Address Book service
and remove it. Click OK and exit the Mail applet. Now, restart the mail
applet and readd the OAB service to the mail profile. See if that fixes it.

This is a very common problem which Microsoft claims they cannot reproduce
and therefore cannot solve. Anecdotal reports claim the following may help:
1. Look for and correct a corrupt address in the Contacts displayed in the
Outlook Address Book (especially if the crash at the same place when
scrolling).
2. Remove then re-add the Outlook Address Book Service or, better yet,
create a new Outlook profile.
3. Update your video drivers.

Most people seem to find no solution.

Thank you Russ...
I have tried all these things... still nothing has worked..
