I recently reinstalled Office 2003 after some of the
windows installation files were damaged with help I
received on this newsgroup. The main problem had been
with Outlook. Outlook still isn't working right. I
started outlook, it found my email account from outlook
express and imported it. However, when I tried to compose
a new email, I got this error message:
"The messaging interface has returned an unknown error.
If the problem persists, restart outlook."
When I tried to go to the tools menu and edit my email
accounts, I got this message:
"an operation failed due to a registry or installation
problem. Restart outlook and try again. If the problem
persists, please reinstall".
Outlook express works- I can send and receive email. So
I'm not sure if it is a registry problem or an outlook
problem. I tried the detect and repair option in the help
menu with the option to restore the default settings, but
that didn't do the trick.
Any other suggestions?
