Just yesterday Outlook began handling messages and replies differently.
Now, when I Reply to an email I click Reply and I get an orange box in my
task bar at the bottom of the screen that I must click three times to bring
up the Reply screen so that I can type in my response. If I select "New"
message, the same happens. Receiving new messages is frustrating as they
hide behind whatever is opened and I have to click the orange box in the
task bar three times to get them to appear on top of the main email screen.
I don't recall changing anything, but this is not as it has been for years.
In the past when I selected Reply an empty and ready-to-use screen appeared
on top of the others where I then entered my reply. When I opened a new
message it opened on top, and no orange box appeared. No longer that way.
Suggestions, please. TIA, Dick

I have answered my own question. It is an XP problem and not an Outlook
problem. It is caused by one window trying to or taking Focus away from
another and is best addressed by using TweakUI|General|Focus and clearing
the top square. Dick
