I'm having problems just the opposite of "Default email & XP" - I am using
"Outlook Express" and can not change to "Outlook".
I tried: Control Panel -> Add/remove programs -> Click the 'Set program
access and defaults' button on the left had side. One of the headings is
Choose a default e-mail program: The radio button with a dot in it is: "use
my current e-mail program" - (Outlook Express is not identified with a dot
in the radio button) yet that is the only email default that I am able to
use.

Frustrated,

To set the default e-mail program, open Internet Explorer.. click on TOOLS -
INTERNET OPTIONS - PROGRAMS.. if only Outlook Express is showing as an
option, there is a very good chance that you do not have Outlook installed..

Outlook is available as a standalone program or part of the Microsoft Office
package..

I have Microsoft Office XP Small Business and re-installed it from the
disc. Outlook comes up on the "start" - "All Programs" But when I try to
start it I get the following "pop up menus":
Your Microsoft Exchange Server is unavailable - then I click the "wrok
offline" button;
The next pop up menu is: Unable to open your default e-mail folders. Your
profile is not configured - then I click on the "ok" button -
The next Pop up menu is: Would you like to open your default File System
folder instead? (I have two choices here yes or no)
If I click on "no" it exits the program;
If I click on "yes" it takes me to "My computer - microsoft outlook"
that looks just like "My Computer".
By the way I went into Internet Explorer.. click on TOOLS -> INTERNET
OPTIONS - PROGRAMS and Highlighted Microsoft Outlook and nothing changed. I
still can not get into Microsoft Outlook.
What advantage do I have using Outlook Express vs Microsoft Outlook?
