Thank you for your response. My Outlook 2003 suddenly stopped sending and receiving messages through my ISP but it does send and receive my hotmail. When I try to go in and change the email settings it does not allow me to do this. I have taken off MS Office and reinstalled it 4 times and get the same result. Previously Outlook worked perfectly at handing my ISP email as well as Hotmail. Any ideas? Could it be something amiss in the registry? Don

What do you mean you can't change the settings? If you go to Tools, Email
Accounts, View or Change Existing Email Accounts and select your ISP's
account, what hapens?

When I click on Email Accounts under Tools it says, "The operation failed due to a registry or installation problem. Restart Outlook, and try again. If the problem persists, please reinstall". I have reinstalled 4 times and still get the same result.

When I go to Tools, Options, and then Mail Setup and click Email Accounts button, nothing happens at all. Under the same Mail Setup clicking the Send/Receive Groups and then the Edit button gets no result also.

An error message that I've received is 1919 ODBC, MS Access Database error 6.

Any ideas about what all this means and what to do about it?

One thing that the comput has been doing each time I turn it off is defauliting to January 1, 2002 12am. I've reset that a number of times also. I don't know if this has anything to do with the problem, but I though I should mention it. The laptop is only 6 months old.

1. Have you scanned for viruses?
2. Do you have any add-ins installed? It sounds like there might be
something that's hooked into your Outlook.
3. When you say reinstall, have you uninstalled first and then installed
again or just run Setup again and fixed your Outlook installation? If it's
the latter, try uninstalling, then rebooting, then reinstalling.

Good suggestions. I believe I have done all these things, but I'm going to do each one tomorrow... you never know.

Thank you,

Hello Patricia,

I took off MS Contact Manager and Outlook began to work again. That's strange don't you think? I'm very happy that I can now send and receive email through my ISP, but am wondering why Contact Manager created a conflict. Should try to reinstall it to see what happens?
