Hi,

I just came back from a trip where the hotel had a wireless server. Everyone
else seemed to be sending and receiving their e-mails without any problems.
Mine did not work. I have a wireless server at the office and have no
problems there. At the hotel, I could get into Internet using the wireless
server without any problems, but not send or receive. I use MS Outlook 2003.

Is there some security or other setting preventing me from doing this?

Thanks for help,

Could you browse the web at all? I'm wondering if you had a good connection
to the Internet at all

Thanks for your answer.

Yes, I had no apparent rouble surfing the web. In fact, I was able to get my
msgs. directly from the Mediacom Mesg. Center, but they would not download
via MS Outlook. Sending didn't work either.

Can you PING your incoming or outgoing mail servers? I forgot to ask... are
you connecting to standard Internet mail servers or an Exchange Server?

Not sure what ping means. I believe I am connected to an Internet server, but
how can I tell?

PING is a command you can enter in a command prompt window. The full command
is:
PING <Server name>

Where server name is the name of your mail server.

How will this help? Listen, I have no problems in the server at my office. No
one else had trouble with the server at the hotel. What's the difference?

Could be any number of things. I've had no end of trouble on hotel networks
being configured oddly.

Unknown... but like I mentioned hotel network are just funky sometimes.

OKay, then how do you explain that everyone else using MS Outlook and Express
had no problems whatsoever?
