I sometimes like to send e-mails by clicking on the mail link at the top of
Internet Explorer 6. But for some reason Outlook 2003 pro will not send the
message until I open up the Outlook program. It seems that my message is
being stored in the outbox.

Why is that?

Outlook, like most other programs, must be open to run.

Not so with Outlook Express 6.

I can send an e-mail instantly from IE6 without having to manually open OE6.

Strange.

Not strange at all - OE is a completely different program than Outlook and does not have the dependencies that Outlook has to send.

So I take it that I will have to live with it?
