I am looking for a solution to allow outlook to keep more folders and
emails. Does outlook can be connected to a SQL database? Perhaps
another email client could do better. The PST file fo outlook after
1GO is getting slower, outlook is crashing more frequently.

Please if you're aware fo a better solution. I would like to keep
working with Outlook. unfortunately, the software becomes unstable
whenever a database is too big.

Does the new Outlook 2003 will handle such a task?

thank you

The solution is not to store junk in your pst-file. I'm always amazed when
people have a pst-file that large.

Some thigs I always do to keep my pst-file small and up to speed;
-Remove mail you don't need
-Remove attachments from the message when possible(especially in the Sent
Items folder; they are already stored on a location you can reach otherwise
you wouldn't be able to send them). A pst-file is a mail store not a
filesystem
-do not store your pst-file on a networkshare (it works great though but the
bigger the slower)
-use the Compress Now button every now and then and always after you deleted
a couple of MB's
-start a new pst-file every New Year's day so you can archive your old one.

Outlook 2003 will support pst-files up to 20GB. Knock yourself out ;-)

I hope this information was usefull to you.
